internal Auditor (100%)
The Internal Auditor manages the newly set up Internal Audit function of the organization. In its current form, the scope of the role encompasses to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of project activities in our programme countries and at Head Office. The position is considered as an executive support unit and reports to the Managing Director of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation.
Manage the development of the function in accordance with its regulations and with the expectations of the Management Board, integrating the priorities of the organization
Through recommendations and advice, contribute to the good management of operational activities, manage potential risks and optimize processes
Through internal audits, control compliance with processes
Propose and implement the annual audit strategy and programme - taking into account the priorities of the organization
Define and implement methodologies, processes and procedures to enable internal audit activities and their follow-up
Commission on key findings and recommendations stemming from internal audits performed during the previous calendar year
Report on progress in the implementation of recommendations previously issued
Provide the organisation with an appropriate mechanism to manage resource related incidents (AGIR)
University degree in economics (business or finance) or higher vocational training (e.g. Swiss certified public accountant, Swiss certified accountant / controller, business economist FH, professional bachelor in business administration)
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) training is an asset
10 years of professional experience whereof 5 years of international expertise in the financial sector
Several years of experience in the planning and execution of internal audits as well as general management experience
Know-how in data analysis
Fluent in English and French or Spanish (orally and in writing), any other language is an asset
Very good communication and negotiation skills, strong commitment and assertiveness
Able to and enjoy travelling to other countries (approx.. 40-50%), inclusive fragile contexts
