Our customer is a professional investment firm with a team of 45 people. He invests in a broadly diversified portfolio, from Venture Capital to Private Equity, Stocks, Bonds and Real Estate.
Your role :
Our customer has a modern application landscape and a collaborative way of working and we are looking for a data management expert to be part of this opportunity. As he is not a large organisation as such you will have to take ownership of tasks in data governance and data management, from both a top down and bottom up. A passion for data is imperative, as is an eye for detail and the drive to see things through to completion. You would be part of a creative, flexible, solution based team, highly regarded by all areas of the business.
The role will entail:
Building up data governance processes and reporting on them Tracking the data quality throughout the core applications in the organisation. Developing KPIs to support your findings and conclusions.
Suggesting and implementing processes for improving data Quality.
Checking daily data quality issues that arise from the Business.
Digging to find the source and suggesting Solutions.
Have the technical understanding and skills to be able to effectively analyse the issues at source.
Have the business knowledge to understand new business requirements and documenting them before interacting with the rest of the IT team in order to implement a solution.
Defining data requirements around a new product process.
Monitor the Data vendor costs.
Ensure clear business ownership of data.
Your qualifications :
You will have minimum 5 years+ experience in financial markets specifically supporting front, middle and back office data requirements. HE / She should have had exposure to trading, decision support and shadow accounting systems. It is assumed that candidates will have a good understanding of investment management data and the
investment management order lifecycle.
Good understanding of investment management data.
Full experience and understanding of the trade LifeCycle.
Demonstrate an in�]depth knowledge of securities, equities, fixed income, private equity, private equity fund of funds and derivatives.
Experience in working with the business and taking their requirements.
Some development skills would be desirable but not obligatory (VBA�c).
Strong analytic view, seeing problems in the systems and bringing them to the attention of the head of IT with solution suggestions.
Experience at identifying and communicating complex technical issues at all stakeholder Levels.
Experience in working in an agile project environment as both a team member as well as a project leader.
Experience in identifying and resolving issues in systems mentioned below.
Experience of Markit EDM (or similar system) ,Thinkfolio, CRD (or other OMS) is important, and a performance, risk or accounting system would be advantages.
Basic SQI skills.
CFA or equivalent is advantageous.
