The Position

We are looking for a Key Account Manager for the Genedata Expressionist Business Unit to support our successful and expanding business during the next growth phase.
This position is based at our office in Basel, Switzerland, and will have responsibility for specific geographical areas and/or specific accounts in Europe.

This full-time position requires travel within Europe on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business – prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals from initial contact through signed agreements
  • Work closely with the consulting team to sell enterprise software systems and services
  • Develop and communicate project proposals and presentations
  • Establish and grow customer relationships  

Your Profile

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years related business experience, with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A good scientific background
  • Direct technology sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors
  • Experience in selling high-value software or IT-related solutions
  • Ability to prioritize actions and goals and to successfully move deals through the sales cycle
  • A high level of initiative, combined with interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to give effective presentations and work closely with customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Additional preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of mass spectrometry technology and applications is a plus
  • Understanding of bioinformatics market and first-hand knowledge of the bioinformatics software market gained through sales, marketing, or business development activities in this field
  • A solid understanding of project management methodologies

We are also interested in candidates without sales experience, but with a solid scientific background in Pharma/Biotech and the right attitude for a sales position.
