The Position

We are looking for a Business Development Manager for the Genedata Profiler Business Unit to support our successful and expanding business during the next growth phase.
This position is based at our office in Basel, Switzerland, and will have responsibility for specific geographical areas and/or specific accounts in Europe.
This full-time position requires travel within Europe on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive business – prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals from initial contact through signed agreements
  • Develop new business for Genedata Profiler in target markets, as well as continue expansion within existing clients
  • Build relationship with existing clients, understand their data workflows and needs
  • Devise and implement account and territorial strategic and tactical plans   
  • Work closely with the consulting team to sell enterprise software systems and services
  • Develop and communicate project proposals and presentations
  • Establish and grow customer relationships
    Your Profile

    The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years related business experience, with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Proven business development manager who is experienced with complex software solution sales
    • Profound scientific background in life sciences
    • Direct technology sales experience in pharmaceutical or biotech sector
    • Excellent network within the industry
    • Ability to prioritize actions and goals and to successfully move deals through the sales cycle
    • A high level of initiative, combined with interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Ability to give effective presentations and work closely with customers
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

    Additional preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Knowledge of genomics technologies and its applications in translational research is a plus
    • Understanding of bioinformatics market and first-hand knowledge of the bioinformatics software market gained through sales, marketing, or business development activities in this field
    • A solid understanding of project management methodologies
    • Thorough knowledge of the bioinformatics market and of competitors offering software for patient profiling
