The Position

We are looking for an Associate Product Manager for our Genedata Screener® product line, the pharma industry’s preferred software system for analysis and management of screening data. We seek to maintain a good understanding of our customers’ research processes and science, and we develop our product to support changing processes and advancing science, as well as identify new application areas for the product and gaps to cover. This position will support our scientific and product management teams to continuously translate innovations in screening science and research processes into product functionality.

You will use your scientific knowledge to provide our customers with solutions for real-world screening problems; identify, engage, discuss in-depth with our customers’ key personnel scientific and process questions; map out their relevance for the product; and acquire and perform analysis projects with customers to enter new application areas.

This full-time position is based at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities   

Support our scientific team to identify and research innovative approaches in pharma R&D relevant for our Screener product, for example:

  • Accompany scientific account managers on customer visits and support them with scientifically involved topics; provide data analysis and technological expertise to internal and external  customers; conduct customer data analysis projects for validating new methods

  • Scientifically evaluate new analysis methods in collaboration with internal stakeholders and selected customers

Support our product management team with the process of turning innovations into product functionality, for example:

  • Conceptualize scientific methods and develop ideas for practical use in our software
  • Act as product owner and discuss their implementation with our development team
  • Review new product functionality and its documentation for accuracy and fitness-for-purpose
  • Conduct internal trainings for our sales and support teams
  • Support our marketing team with messaging and marketing of such new functionality
  • Present solutions and discuss them with experts working in pharmaceutical research

Your Profile

  • Ph.D.-level scientific education, in a life sciences field
  • Additional mathematical or computational background is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with the statistical analysis of data from biological experiments
  • 3+ years of life science industry or practical laboratory experience related to pharma research
  • Experience with communicating complex issues on different levels and presenting cases to different types of audience
  • Self-organized, pragmatic person with autonomous working style
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Business fluent in English

This position is especially well suited for someone with both a scientific background and computational aptitude, who has a hands-on approach, enjoys variety in daily work, and wants to expand his/her skill set (scientific, management, and soft skills).
