Data Protection Legal Adviser
Resident Position - 100% - GenevaPurpose of the post
Following the adoption by the Directorate of the ICRC Rules on Personal Data Protection (the Rules) on 24 February 2015, the ICRC established a Data Protection Office to ensure the effective application of the Rules as well as the exercise of individuals' data protection rights.Main duties and responsibilities
The Data Protection Legal Adviser assists the Head of Data Protection Office in the identification, planning, implementation, coordination and follow-up of the data protection activities of the ICRC, of the management and performance of the functions of the Data Protection Office as identified in the ICRC Rules and explanatory Handbook.
In particular, the Data Protection Legal Adviser is entrusted with the following tasks:
Lines of reporting
The Data Protection Legal Adviser reports to the Head of Data Protection Office, in the Communication and Information Management Department.Education and experience required
Place of work: Geneva
Desired length of mission: Open ended contract - 3 year assignment.
Date of taking office: 5 December 2016.
