Evolution of the Procurement Division at Nestlé:
To ensure that Nestlé achieves its objective of sustainable growth, a new Procurement Division is being created with hubs in Switzerland, Panama and Malaysia. They will provide a range of services, including the management of procurement for specific raw materials, packaging, indirect materials and other services. The hubs will also support markets with managing local spend.
In order to implement and foster our new Procurement Model, we are looking for a Global Category Lead (GCL)for the Flexible/Packagingcategory in our Procurement Hub based in Malaysia.

The GCL is accountable for setting the strategic direction, objectives and KPIs for the group of Global Spend Categories and teams under his/her responsibility to ensure the delivery of business value and competitive advantage to the business.
He/she will plan the execution roadmap of the Flexible packaging category and as a result, draw up timelines, targets and milestones for each category on an ongoing basis.
The GCL will lead Category Managers under his / her scope in the creation and implementation of Above Market Spend Category Strategies aligned with the business and applying the Nestlé Standardized Procurement Model.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Create and define a robust strategy, high level objectives and deliverables for the category to deliver competitive advantage to the business.
Develop advanced category knowledge by ensuring people capabilities and skills are in place.
Ensure continuous business connectivity by interacting with relevant senior Business Partners and Stakeholders, provide category direction and influence pertinent strategies and decisions in the business.
Promote and ensure Compliance to Nestlé’s Corporate Business principles, policies, standards and Procurement Policy, Procurement Standardized Model, Nestlé Supplier Code, Best Practices, etc.
Define and revise the overall contract management policy.
Build relationships with suppliers, ensuring the relevant supplier development and management actions are in place.
Manage and lead a team of 15 Global Category Managers and Global Strategic Buyers
Responsible for a global multi-billion spend
What is required?
10+ years of experience and proven successful delivery of competitive advantage to the business through procurement in above market / large market structures.
Demonstrated experience in a range of different packaging categories in a similar role
Proven procurement expertise / excellent knowledge of the packaging industry and more specifically of flexible packaging.
Experience working in complex environments and operating across multiple countries and / or regions in leader positions.
Solid experience in leading multiple projects in complex environments across multiple countries / regions.
Demonstrated experience in managing effective Key Supplier development initiatives and relationship management.
Strong experience in negotiating and influencing across multiple geographies and business units.
Understanding the Supply market and competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
