Experiment Control Software Developer
A new spallation neutron source, the European Spallation Source (ESS) is being built in Lund, Sweden. The ESS will have a complex suite of neutron scattering instruments for performing research in material science. Within a joint project between ESS, ISIS and PSI you will develop an experiment control software which enables external ESS users to perform experiments with neutron scattering instruments. You will have to cover all aspects of the software life cycle like design, evaluation of solutions, implementation, testing and documentation. The task also includes verification of the newly developed software with instrument at PSI.
You hold a degree in natural sciences or computer science and solid experience in developing software in C++ and python in a unix environment. The task requires cooperation with our partners at ESS and ISIS. Thus good knowledge of english and good team skills are required. You must be prepared for occasional travel within europe. Skills in user interface design or WWW-design would be an additional advantage.
