Global Product Strategy (GPS) provides strategic business direction from research through to development, commercialisation and medical excellence, collaborating with functions and affiliates to shape the future of medicine.

The Global Strategic Insights & Analysis (SIA) team provides high quality insights on the pharma portfolio, brands and the market environment, leveraging internal and external resources and performing robust forecasting, competitive intelligence, primary and syndicated market research  to inform key business decision by our stakeholders.

In this position, you will be joining the Industry Analytics team in SIA, which provides cross-functional support across industry, portfolio, biosimilars and partnering analysis to various stakeholders within GPS as well as other global departments.

As an Industry & Portfolio Insights Manager, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide insightful and relevant  analysis on the GPS/Roche Pharma portfolio, combining internal (portfolio) view and expectations with external (industry) perspectives and trends
  • Proactively engage and partner with stakeholders – both within GPS as well as other global functions across the organization – to identify & address business needs and help facilitate effective and informed decision-making
  • Conduct a range of industry and portfolio analyses, covering topics such as: market overview, performance & potential, Roche portfolio revenue growth drivers, portfolio risks and impact of external macro events, emerging industry trends & strategic implications to the business
  • Effectively manage relationships with global SMR (Syndicated Market Research) vendors and support global contract negotiations to ensure optimal SMR portfolio and resources
  • Lead and support projects within SIA and Business Insights & Operations (BIO) to drive development of analytics function in GPS
  • Who you are

    • A business or science degree, and a minimum of seven years business analytics experience in the pharmaceutical industry – an MBA or other related graduate-level degree is a plus. Robust knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, dynamics and key trends is a must, knowledge about the key therapy areas across Roche’s portfolio and pipeline is desired
    • Is familiar with different analytics methodologies and knows when to use them, preferably also familiar with sales and portfolio analysis. Is able to understand and anticipate key business questions and develop the appropriate analytics and interpretation to answer those questions
    • Experience of presenting to senior stakeholders and flexibility in managing multiple, often time sensitive, priorities. Familiar with the main syndicated data sources, as well as their strengths and weaknesses, excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills; along with strong planning and organization skills
    • Strong team player and the ability to work as part of a cross functional team
