Within the Product Development Quality organization, reporting to the Head of PDQ Services (PDQS) Training Systems & Operations, the Team Lead role will support the implementation of a comprehensive training strategy for PDQ and the supported business partners (gRED, pRED, PD, GPS and affiliates) for all relevant regulatory compliance training on standards and processes related to clinical development and safety/pharmacovigilance. They will lead a team of Training Specialists responsible to,  develop training programs from identification of training needs, to execution of training development and deployment of outputs and materials


Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Leads a PDQS Learning team to support the successful and timely development of training programs required as part of the Pharma Development Quality System. This includes prioritization and assignment of tasks with stakeholders, within the team, as well as management of activities between the different groups in PDQS to ensure full alignment of training development and deployment schedule

  • Provide leadership and line management to the team in Basel

  • Establishes, maintains and fosters strong relationships with key business stakeholders and ensures that PDQ is providing efficient, effective, value added training to the functions.

  • In close collaboration with supported functional areas and key business stakeholders, proactively identifies training needs and areas for improvement. Ensures that business partner expectations for training strategy, materials and deployment are met

  • Ensures applied instructional design in the development of training materials, and proactively interacts with 3rd party contractors/vendors and internal business stakeholders

  • Ensures robust and compliant delivery, tracking and reporting of training assignments and completions through our learning management systems

    We are looking for a professional with a University degree in Science-related subject or other related field. Advanced degree preferred and >7 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably development and working in a GxP regulated area; broad understanding of global expectations of Health Authorities in the area of pharmaceutical development.


    You will bring


    • Demonstrated knowledge of GCP, Pharmacovigilance/drug safety and regulatory requirements, as well as analytical, organizational and planning skills
    • Experience in preparation, development and administration of training programs and systems and Training and Curricula development
    • Considerable organizational awareness (e.g. interrelationship of departments, business priorities), including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global teams.
    • Desired: Substantial knowledge of all services and activities provided by PDQ, QS
    • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including a customer focused approach, and highly effective teamwork and collaboration skills
    • Effective communicate skills, influencing and leading without authority. Can successfully to manage cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams
