As an intern you will be part of the Device Development team within F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG located in Basel. Our team consists of approximately 70 professional engineers, material scientists, pharmacists and physicists.
We have several device development programs using a toolbox of different delivery technologies. Additionally, we support changes and evolution of medical devices and combination products associated with marketed products.


During your internship the following responsibilities will be assigned to you:

  • Research and coordinate a significant project including technical assessment, documentation, statistical analysis, summary and presentation of results
  • The project will focus on the systematic evaluation and subsequent innovation of methods applied for the characterization of medical devices /combination products
  • Define best practice protocols for method implementation
  • Investigate method applicability to day-to-day projects
  • You will be assigned to a mentor

    You are an enrolled student at an university pursuing a qualification in biomedical, engineering, pharmaceutical, materials science or similar subject. Ideally, you have already gained first experiences in the development and characterization of medical devices and combination products.


    Further requirements include:

    • Interpersonal confidence combined with excellent documentation, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
    • Team Player with excellent collaborative skills
    • Flexible, versatile, inquisitive and analytical person with attention to detail
    • Excellent IT and technical knowledge
    • Excellent English and German language skills

    Preferentially, the internship will start in October or November 2016.

    To be considered your application needs to include a valid certificate of enrollment, a cover letter and a CV. Non-EU-EFTA citizens have to provide a certificate of mandatory internship in addition.
