The Data Analyst is responsible for executing statistical analyses on clinical trials and/or diagnostics instruments’ data. In cooperation with other Data Analysts and Data Scientists, he/she is responsible for choosing suitable statistical methods to answer the analytical questions at hand and to apply these methods to derive relevant and meaningful insights. The Data Analyst has a structured approach to work and is able to develop and follow an analytical approach in a complex and ambiguous demand environment. In this role you will:
  • Execute data analyses (descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive) on clinical trials and/or diagnostics instruments data under the supervision of a Data Scientist
  • Support Data Scientists in developing an analytical approach for data-centric services and execute it
  • Work closely together with other Data Analysts and exchange knowledge and experience with them
  • Perform high quality, timely analyses using appropriate state-of-the-art methodologies, tools and best practices
  • Have a high-level understanding of or be willing and able to learn how the relevant data generating processes work

    We are looking for a professional with a B.A or M.S degree in Data Analytics or a related field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Computer Science) and with at least 3 years’ experience working with clinical trial or instrument data (preferably both) in Pharma or Diagnostics setting. You bring:
    • Proven programming experience with R or Python and/or other statistical software packages; Very good knowledge of relational database principles and corresponding query language skills (e.g. SQL)
    • Proven experience in applying machine learning methods and big data tools
    • Proven experience in applying statistical methods and conducting exploratory data analyses
    • Good understanding of the environments in and purposes for which clinical trial and instrument data are being generated
    • Experience using business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Business Objects
    • Good communication skills; ability to communicate and exchange with other technical staff; Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
    • Good knowledge of English in a business environment
