Student Internship in Device Development - Device Engineering (as soon as possible, for 9-12 months)
Switzerland, Basel-Town, Basel
You will be working within the EU Biologics Device Development Team, with a focus on device engineering.
High-level responsibilities of the team are developing medical/drug delivery devices to support the biologics portfolio as well as the provision of design control and risk management deliverables. The generation and maintenance of patent, registered design, trademark applications, as required and to evaluate and characterize injector mechanisms for drug delivery assuring that all injector components result in an accurate drug dose delivery. Further responsibilities are to assess and mitigate design and system risk, work with drug developers to assure that device delivery maintains drug safety and efficacy and to assure that each device meets all of its product requirements. Additionally we assure that each device component meets all of its technical requirements and specifications, we support marketed medical/drug delivery devices and evaluate and innovate technology solutions.
As Intern you will be assigned to a mentor and you will actively contribute to a project in collaboration with colleagues in our affiliate in South San Francisco. The aim of the project will be to create templates and fixed documentation about using an auto injector as device for different molecules.
Specific Internship Responsibilities:
You are an under-graduate pursuing a qualification in a Biomedical, Engineering, Materials Science or similar subject.
The starting date of this internship can be as soon as possible. Please clearly indicate your preferred starting date and duration of internship (9-12 months) in your cover letter.
