In the Global Quality & Regulatory organization, the new Biosafety & Environment Regulations Team partners with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring divisional compliance with product related biosafety and environmental regulations to ultimately deliver our innovative products to our customers and patients.

We are looking for you as an experienced and energetic Head of Biosafety & Environment Regulations. You provide strategic vision and implements policies on related biosafety and environmental regulation tasks for the assigned organizations in Roche Diagnostics. As the role has a critical interface with key organizations within as well as outside of Roche Diagnostics, this means a high degree of influence over a variety of products being developed or led out of the organization. In this role you act as Biosafety and Environment decision maker for any escalated Regulatory Affairs relevant issues and will have the liberty to create and perfect a responsible and focused work culture oriented on best customer support.


The responsibilities in this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Defines the Roche Diagnostics global biosafety and environmental strategic direction
  • Analyses relevance and impact of regulations on Roche Diagnostics’ products and partners with business to develop solutions
  • Develops a staffing and implementation plan for addressing the biosafety and environmental needs
  • Influences the worldwide biosafety and environmental regulatory environment
  • Represents Roche on policy and standards setting forums to ensure interests are considered
  • Builds up / manage a strong team as well as extensive internal and external stakeholder relationships

    To be successful in this role, you will have a Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline or related field. Additionally you will have:

    • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations (RoHS, WEEE, REACH)
    • Professional certification in environmental sciences preferred
    • 10+ years of experience in Diagnostics, Medical Device or Biotech industry
    • Roche product knowledge preferred
    • Strong experience in leading people and working  in a matrixed environment
    • Expert communicator, and ability to influence various, complex internal/external stakeholders
    • Strategic vision
    • Ability to build strong relationships
    • Fluent in  English
