The Lufthansa Group (LHG) Head of Direct Distribution Provider Management is based in Zurich and reports to the Lufthansa Group Head of Direct Distribution Solutions. Alternative Direct Distribution Solutions play a vital role for LHG’s future distribution capabilities, making sure LHG’s products are properly placed and easily accessible on different channels. He or she will lead a team which is responsible for establishment and management of travel technology providers and system partners, thereby actively taking over responsibility for creation and continuous development of an innovative and cost effective distribution landscape.

Your Duties

  • Screening and selection of potential travel technology providers in order to optimize and extend the LHG distribution solutions and services offer; scouting of market trends
  • Preparation and execution of negotiations with global Distribution solutions and service providers in collaboration with sourcing department
  • Application of LHG direct distribution solutions by new travel technology providers in cooperation with solutions team
  • Steering of 3rd party project until go-live
  • Setup and further development of strategic partnerships with providers and evaluation of joint developments
  • Definition and achievement control of KPIs with providers
  • Monitoring and enforcement of contractual agreements (invoices, SLAs)
  • Implementation of all business activities under the area of responsibility applying the relevant policies
  • Planning, monitoring and reporting of the budget for the area of responsibility
  • Leadership, motivation and development of team members, adequate organizational and process design in the line organization
  • Representation of Lufthansa Group in industry-wide forums and standardization bodies (IATA), thought Leadership and contribution to the definition of industry norms


  • Master or equivalent in Business Administration, Business Informatics or IT
  • Significant experience in Business / IT alignment and/or Key Account Management
  • Relevant knowledge and experience with Travel Distribution Eco System (>6 years)
  • Strong ability to breakdown concepts into operations planning, develop and achieve ambitious targets
  • Significant experience managing providers of business-critical functions (>5 years)
  • Strongly developed sense of responsibility, high level of commitment and ability to work under pressure

  • High degree of assertiveness, especially in dealing with providers
  • Ability to work across functional lines
  • Fluent in English / German would be an advantage
  • High willingness to travel
