Functional Genomics Center Zurich / SIAF
The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint core facility of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich that applies the latest omics technologies for biomolecular research and personalized medicine. The FGCZ Genome Informatics group supports researchers with the analysis and interpretation of next generation sequencing (NGS) data. The team covers all aspects associated with NGS data: raw data processing, high-performance computing, statistical evaluation, interpretation and integrated analysis. The team runs an excellent open source based software environment and establishes state-of-the-art data analysis concepts and algorithms. The successful candidate will extend the existing team and collaborate closely with researchers at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich.
The Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) is a University of Zurich associated research institute that drives personalized medicine projects for diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, atopic dermatitis, allergen-specific immunotherapy and immune tolerance. SIAF currently runs more than 20 projects using NGS and connected bioinformatics approaches, mainly in collaboration with the Functional Genomics Center. The successful candidate will collaborate with several of the ongoing projects for data processing, statistical analysis and high performance computing. He will also participate and drive high impact publications.
