Development Engineer (Mechanical Analysis)

Keeping pace with progress is one of our most important ambitions. The mechanical analysis group in our Headquarters in Winterthur has the global responsibility for the advanced mechanical calculations and the mechanical design rules.
Perform Finite Element (FEM) analysis
Evaluate designs according to global (e.g. ASME VIII, EN13445) and internal SULZER Standards
Drive SULZER Pump internal calculation standards
Develop and validate new analysis methods and approach in cooperation with all development groups worldwide
Knowledge of mechanics and strength of materials
Engineering background in statics and dynamics
Experience in Finite Element Analysis, preferably with ANSYS
Knowledge of Pressure Vessel Codes e.g. ASME, EN13445 are beneficial
Knowledge of programming languages (HTML, Jscript, Python) are beneficial
Good English skills (written and verbal) required
You will have the opportunity to perform Finite Element (FEM) analysis of pump structures and components and give support to internal customers from the engineering and design groups all over the world. You work closely with the hydraulic, design and analysis engineers at the Winterthur development centre and with designated development engineers at other development and engineering centres of Sulzer Pumps worldwide.
