At ETH Zurich in the Computer-assisted Applications in Medicine group, our research focuses on novel computer-assisted applications for screening and diagnosis of diseases. We have recently developed a hand-held ultrasound device for improved tumor screening of breast cancer. The invention was the winning technology of the Spark Award 2016 ( www.ethz.ch/spark-award).
The next project stage will translate the benchtop prototype into the clinical setting and determine the best strategy to commercialize the technology. We are searching for a motivated candidate willing to join our team as
Business Developer in translational MedTech project
The taskswill involve building a business model for a start-up company. This involves the evaluation of different business strategies, collecting extensive customer feedback to determine market and product requirements. The candidate will shape a business plan and prepare the startup for investors, clients and partnerships. Finally, he/she will develop a compelling marketing pitch and present the startup in front of customers and investors and at international Medtec fairs.
The candidate will be employed as part of an ETH Pioneer Fellowship. The preferred starting date is October 1, 2016.
We are lookingfor a candidate with a master in management, technology and economics (MAS MTEC) or related areas. Experiences in bringing an academic project to the market are desirable. Familiarity with medical technology e.g. ultrasound technology and regulatory guidelines (e.g. SwissMedic) are a plus. An entrepreneurial personality, with the ability to support a technically demanding project, with endurance as well as excellent communication skills round up the profile.
