Postdoctoral position in ecological communication theory
Our research groupfocuses on the mediation of interactions among plants, insects, and microbes by chemical cues and signals, as well as related topics in chemical and sensory ecology and biological communication. We are currently looking for a candidate to explore conceptual and theoretical issues related to the use of environmental information by plants. The selected candidate will develop independent research projects under the supervision of Consuelo De Moraes. Other outstanding research groups at ETH Zürich, the University of Zürich, and other nearby institutions offer abundant opportunities for interaction and collaboration. The postdoctoral position is for two years with a flexible start date during 2016 or early 2017. Work-related interactions will be conducted in English.
The ideal candidateshould have a strong background in relevant mathematical modeling techniques. Familiarity with statistical decision theory or other Bayesian approaches is desirable. The candidate should possess a strong intellectual background in relevant fields, as well as a documented record of previous research accomplishment.
