STI - Electrical Engineer at EPFL LSBI

The Laboratory for Soft Bioelectronic Interfaces at the EPFL is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of various embedded electronic systems and instrumentation interfaces for our soft bioelectronic devices.

Your main tasks will include:

  • design of analog and digital electronic circuitry;
  • design and implementation of wired and wireless interfaces for customized sensors;
  • contribute in the preparation of demonstration prototypes
  • create PCB layouts and interface with outside vendors when required;
  • test and validate the electronic systems;
  • design and implementation of real-time processing and control systems;
  • interact with and support the LSBI team.

The position applies to engineers motivated by technological changes and a multidisciplinary work environment.

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Microengineering or Mechatronics;
  • Solid experience in analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and device performance simulation;
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping, soldering, and debugging designs;
  • Knowledge and experience selecting and programming microprocessors, controllers, and logic arrays;
  • Experience with computer-based instrumentation and data acquisition is a plus. Proficiency in computer programming and electromechanical design/simulation software (e.g. C++, Labview, AutoCad, Matlab);
  • Analytical thinking, conceptual work and solution orientation;
  • Good English language skills.
