You are energized by collaborating strongly with line leadership, HR, and working on cross-functional teams with a wide range of associates. You will be a process consultant that builds a strategic and independent view, and a thought leader in current OD practices in Survey Research, Group Dynamics, Interpersonal and Individual Development along with Systems theory and Organizational Change Models. You see building strong relationships with colleagues in HR and throughout the organization as crucial to success.

Strategic Perspective:
• Advise with appropriate feedback / research models to provide perspectives on NIBR organizational strengths and required changes to meet scientific ambitions
• Partner with Corporate Talent & OD professionals to ensure Novartis-wide efforts align with NIBR organizational goals and needs
• Partner with peers in Talent and Culture Leadership to support organizational culture and engagement
• Lead organizational efforts in specific units, sometimes globally, to build a culture founded on the Novartis Values and Behaviours that supports Novartis’ strategic direction and our integrated operating model

Process Consulting:

Organization Effectiveness and Capacity Building:
• Consult with key organizational stakeholders to identify and address organizational problems and design; help implement innovative and sustainable solutions. A key component of this is the ability to discern the most significant opportunities in the context of NIBR’s cultural and organizational potential
• Lead, design, develop, improve and monitor organization-wide processes and programs aimed at building organizational capability (e.g. organizational change projects, culture development, Global Engagement Survey)
• Partner with line and HR stakeholders to build capability and readiness in change management skills, experience and expertise

Culture Change Leadership:
• Consult with HR Partners and clients to identify strategies that support the desired organizational culture across NIBR, and connect to the specific needs of individual, functional, and disease areas
• Identify opportunities and help shape strategies and plans to address gaps

Thought Leader:
• Stay current on trends in the Human Resource field, and specifically in OD, to ensure solutions are state-of-the-art
• Be a mentor and resource to others within and outside HR in matters of organizational development and the evolving sociology of science

Your Key Performance Indicators
• Excellent stakeholder management measured by positive feedback, including HR leadership, senior leadership, line partners, project members
• Ability to motivate multiple partners towards shared goals and integrate their ideas and expertise
• Effectiveness of strategic programs and projects in creating associate engagement, enhancing scientific productivity and supporting a desired organizational culture
• Persistent focus on sustaining efforts over time
• Project/programs delivered to cost, quality and time
Minimum requirements• Master degree or higher in Organizational Development, Adult Learning, Business Management or other similar
• Business-level/fluent English. Additional German is advantageous
• Significant HR experience (i.e. ideally 10+ years) with the majority of that time in Organization Development or closely related areas
• Deep experience in OD Process Consulting leading strategic, global change management projects: assessing needs of internal clients, developing and implementing innovative strategies, processes and programs
• Thought Leader-level expertise in current OD practices such as Survey Research, Group Dynamics, Interpersonal and Individual Development, Systems Theory, Organizational Change Models
• Strong track record of working in complex matrix international companies
• Sound business acumen with proven success working with diverse organizational and social cultures
• Strong facilitation skills
• Effective interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively and building strong relationships
• Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and successfully lead and manage multiple projects whilst meeting time-sensitive and demanding deliverables
• Proven ability to work successfully in high pressure, highly visible international situations
• Experience in leading direct reports and project teams
