You will lead a laboratory and projects aimed at the discovery of novel therapeutics in Oncology. Through your broad and deep knowledge of cancer biology you will develop novel ideas, concepts and define cutting edge experimental strategies. Your work will produce high quality data that enables the progress of drug discovery projects from the understanding of the target to the optimization and characterization of new molecular entities for clinical Proof of Concept. State-of-the-art, hands-on molecular and cell biology experience, as well as proficiency in leveraging and utilizing bioinformatics infrastructure and tools will be required to perform in the role. Strong collaborative team spirit, excellent communication skills and willingness to pro-actively interact across the global organization will be essential to succeed in the role. Excellent mentoring and coaching skills will be a necessary asset to develop team members scientifically and professionally.

• Lead Drug Discovery Biology lab by guiding, supervising and developing scientific associates to deliver the highest quality of experimental science
• Contribute to and/or lead drug discovery projects within multidisciplinary teams
• Define and execute best experimental strategy to deliver interpretable data to test hypothesis, address scientific questions and progress projects
• Develop novel ideas and concepts towards enabling the discovery of novel therapeutics
• Present concepts and projects in a clear, scientifically sound and data-driven, objective manner in different settings and venues
• Closely work with multiple teams across expertise groups within Oncology (Target Identification and Validation, Bioinformatics, Cellular Assays, Enzymology and Biochemistry, Pharmacology) and across departments in the global organization
• Manage resources in a flexible manner and define priorities to maximize results and progress of the department
Minimum requirements• PhD life science with a minimum of 3 years postdoc
• Fluent English oral and written
• Strong cancer biology expertise and record of scientific accomplishment at high standards
• State-of-the-art experimental techniques in molecular and cellular biology and proficiency in leveraging bioinformatics infrastructure and tools
• Experience in drug discovery and project leadership in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is additionally preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Highly collaborative and self-motivated team player with pro-active interactive attitude across a large and diverse environment
• Used to successfully perform and accomplish within a high productivity, high quality environment
• Skilled at coaching and mentoring team members
