Developer Experience (DX) Team’s mission is to empower and inspire ISVs and technical audiences to unlock new and unique opportunities across Azure, Office 365, Windows, SQL and Visual Studio.
A Technical Evangelism Manager actively supports FY17+ strategy and execution planning with area DX LT. In partnership with AEM Lead and ISV Lead the core role focuses on driving excitement of technical audiences to develop applications and services on our platforms and to drive early adoption with ISVs and customers. In addition, the Technical Evangelism Manager is responsible for technical community engagement with influencers, faculties and start-ups. Technical Evangelism Manager is building and leading a team of highly technical experts and thought leaders to drive industry agenda forward.
You will be part of the WE DX team supporting 12 subsidiaries in the field. To achieve success, you will connect with the TE Leads in the field (full- or part-time) to drive the charter of Evangelism. Working across subsidiaries in an effective manner is key to your success.
The Technical Evangelism Manager is responsible to build TE capacity and develop TEs to meet requirements of local market by technology and audience focus. The role requires an excellent strategic leader with vision, collaborator and communicator (verbal and written), able to present insights in concise and effective manner to a variety of stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate deep technical knowledge to be able to articulate our technical strategy, competitive differentiation and core value propositions of Microsoft platforms and technologies.
The primary responsibilities include –
•Drive technical engagement and early adoption with customers and partners leading to locally relevant wins of new Microsoft platform technologies.
•Scale our technical outreach through community engagement with Faculties, Start-ups, and Influencers.
•Build highly technical capabilities and skills across TE teams, and ensure first-class evangelism. Foster a culture of excellence that attracts world class talent.
•Actively participate in TE Leads community. Take on v-team efforts, demonstrate and share best practices
•Establish strong relationships with Microsoft technical evangelism, segment and business groups to facilitate high impact interactions and to deliver strong results.
•Display exceptional integrity and executive presence in dealing with both internal and external senior leaders
•Build a Western European TE Community that drives our DX vision forward.
•Interface with the other WE DX disciplines to guide and support with a focus on world-class evangelism.
Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:
•Leadership skills and proven experience in building, leading and developing technical teams
•Real passion for technology, incl. knowledge of application development practices. L300 technical knowledge on 2 or more of the DX focused technology areas required
•Keen analytical skills that enable comprehension and resolution of complex business and technical issues.
•Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
•Proven experience working with 3rd party communities, social media and blogging required
•Good decision making skills, conflict resolution, and follow through with customers and partners
•Ability to work in a matrix organization with DX WE peers and Subsidiary DX teams
•Willingness to travel up to 30 % of your time
