Director Corporate Communications
Based in Kempinski's Headquarters in Geneva, we are looking for a
Director Corporate Communications
The mission of Corporate Communications is to create goodwill and an excellent reputation for the Kempinski group and associated businesses through a consistent positioning of the brand and group, and support communication efforts towards all stakeholders: Owners, investors, suppliers, partners, and staff.
This position is responsible for initiating, managing and coordinating the group’s Corporate Communications, translating the group’s strategy and communicating this to all stakeholders, supported by the Corporate Communications team, and leading the positioning of Kempinski as a leading luxury brand, leading hospitality management group and preferred employer, and ensuring that Corporate Communications efforts are globally consistent and accurate.
The Director is an effective business partner for the group’s senior management (Management Board, specifically the CEO, Corporate SVPs and VPs) in positioning the group, vision, mission, strategy as well as group or departmental programmes both internally and externally as appropriate, thereby adding value to the brand and group.
The Director supports and guides senior management on the most effective communication tools to position the group, group or functional strategy and key messages. Corporate senior management interviews or public speaking opportunities are conducted by Corporate Communications.
The Director will work closely with the Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, and Corporate PR to ensure seamless messaging, and will provide guidance on group topics as defined by Corporate Communications, such as the Kempinski brand, group vision, mission, strategy, programmes and initiatives, performance, employer branding, and crisis communications.
Specifically in the event of crisis communications, the Director is directly responsible for the overall coordination, sign off on content and instructions to relevant departments as to distribution channels for any statements, as well as the appointment of any spokespersons.
The Director will lead specific group-wide projects to optimise Corporate Communications activities and best practices to the benefit of the group with all stakeholders, including but not limited to:

The team includes also a Director of Corporate Communications (50% Corporate Communications, 50% Public Relations), based in Germany, and a Corporate Communications Coordinator, based in Geneva. both roles are reporting to the Director Corporate Communication.
The ideal profile of the candidate includes the following:
Graduate in journalism, communications or public relations
10 years experience in corporate and internal communications gained either in-house or agency
Experience in travel and tourism, public safety, food and beverage, healthcare are highly desirable
Luxury industry experience an advantage
Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment:
English – perfect oral and written skills
German - good oral and written skills an advantage
Experience working with top management to achieve their business objectives, capable of defining what communications can deliver
Experience designing and implementing communication strategies for internal stakeholders, including group strategy
Experience adapting communications to various stakeholder needs: hotel owners, potential owners and investors, employees, potential employees
Experience contributing to a group’s intranet or similar
Experience in supporting employer branding efforts
Ability to manage the communication response around fast-moving, sensitive issues or crises, and protect the brand reputation and values
Good networker and influencer
Ability to work across different organizational levels, regions and countries
Culturally aware, mature, discreet and diplomatic
Ability to grasp the core issues at stake and summarise accurately
Precise and thorough, attention to detail and accuracy of facts, writing copy and proofreading to ensure total consistency of language, message and information
Understanding of the requirements of a premium brand and the different stakeholder needs
Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator an advantage
