Director, FDS Industry Payment Services
Reporting to the SVP FDS, the incumbent will be responsible for: global development and oversight of regional delivery of the vision, strategy and objectives for global FDS Industry Payment products and services (*), achieving major strategic value to the industry and sustained income growth to IATA.
(*) Products and services to include: good practice, tools, and policies for industry transparency, detection, and airline consent for alternative forms of payment; prevention & cure of blocked funds; ISS product management; and the following IATA payment products and services: E&F, ICCS, ICH third party, NDC / Weblink, iiNET, Financial Gateway, Credit Card, Foreign Exchange and Currency, TIESS, and TASF, Business Development, Business Performance & Methodology.Responsibilities
Builds and leads an industry center of operational excellence, supporting airlines in achieving transparency, detection, and consent for alternative forms of payment, via good practices, tools, and policies, thereby enabling significant airline industry cost efficiencies.
Leads delivery of ISS Product Management in close collaboration with FDS Operations, enabling sustained reduction in ISS unit fees, by significantly increasing BSP and CASS revenue/SCU.
Leads delivery of strategies and plans in close partnership with other FDS departments, IATA Divisions and IATA Regions, to develop and deliver global FDS Payment solutions which deliver value to the industry, income to IATA, and strong customer satisfaction.
Partners with MER and the Regions to deliver prevention and cure of industry blocked funds.
Identifies innovative FDS product development opportunities in the area of industry payment, enabling industry value and income to IATA.
Leads the Industry Payment Services Line of Business, directly accountable to, and with dotted line reporting to SVP MACS.
Participates as an active, open, collaborative and accountable member of the FDS Global LT.
Leads and coaches teams and individuals, developing their capabilities through effective talent management, recruitment and succession planning.
Qualifications and Skills
10 to 15 years of professional experience at executive level in the air transport environment, with at least 8 in a strategic leadership position
Strong leadership, technical / tools experience in industry payment strategies and solutions.
Applied innovation in New Business Development and NPD.
Strong leadership experience in commercial decision making and running major operations.
Proven success in closing new business at “C” levels.
Successful leadership of major transformations.
Leadership of large teams. Highly effective business partner.
The ability to work in a complex, business critical and high profile commercial and operational environment and in ambiguous situations.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English.
