Junior Testing Analyst
RBS Services (Switzerland) Ltd is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and headquartered in Zurich. Its purpose is to manage the Swiss based technology platform and back-office operations supporting the private banking business of Coutts. Coutts forms part the Commercial and Private Banking division of Royal Bank of Scotland Group and is widely recognised as one of the leading private banks and wealth managers in the UK, connected to nearly 70,000 private clients.
You will be an ambassador for quality and testing, instilling that feeling in everyone you collaborate with. You should be familiar with all aspects of software development and promote a positive atmosphere despite a role that is looking for a ‘negative’ (ie. a defect).
The role owner is responsible to assure software development quality in the test phase of Unit and System Integration for dedicated projects on our core banking platform Avaloq. You will participate in quality gates reviewing project deliverables such as system design documentation and test plans. Daily work is very much focused on communication to project, test leads and developers, to coordinate technical and end-to-end testing.
The role will also contribute to test automation by feeding reusable test cases into the regression test set. As being part of test management, you will provide methodological support and guidance to project testing teams.
You will contribute to testing delivery of one, or many projects simultaneously having to jump from one project to another and comfortably discuss at many levels. You must have a good understanding of priorities, be able to ask pertinent questions whilst also being able to come up with innovative solutions to time or quality problems.
You must be able to report negative things in a positive manner, have significant flexibility and be a constant learner. You will have a passion for quality and always look for better ways of doing things for our business and customers.
You can analyse functional and non-functional requirements and drive suitable test approaches. You can conduct and support software code review analysis and design and review of test scripts. You can write test completion reports, feeding into governance forums, produce daily reporting and raise issues and defects along the potential solutions.
You understand the test impact and also the business severity of the defects raised. You are aware of other defects and how they may impact your own work and progress. You can escalate defects as necessary and you double check previous defects, your results and other factors before raising a new defect.
You have an understanding of industry standard testing methodologies including many different delivery methods such as Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Iterative Waterfall, ETL and how we do this within our company. You have knowledge of SDLC and are able to plan, prioritise and organise both your own, and others’ workload.
