Within the Legal Department in Zurich, the selected candidate will, for an initial fixed term period of 18

months, contribute to the success of a small and dynamic team in charge of the legal aspects of EFG Bank

AG, Zurich.


  • Supporting Management (and particularly the General Counsel Switzerland) in the context of the

    current acquisition by EFG International AG of another Swiss banking group with regard to a wide

    variety of M&A, corporate, banking law, regulatory and organizational issues

  • Reviewing and drafting of various agreements and documents in the context of the above mentioned transaction as well as banking documentation and internal directives

  • Providing legal advice to Management, Front Desk, HR, Credit, Operations and IT department on all legal matters pertaining to Private Banking and Asset Management

  • Managing regulatory and enforcement issues and proceedings

  • Following and analyzing regulatory developments impacting the Bank


  • Swiss law degree and (ideally) Swiss bar admittance or comparable foreign education with significant professional experience practicing Swiss law
  • Master in law or professional experience abroad would be a plus
  • At least 1 to 4 years of relevant professional experience within a financial institution or other company and/or in a law firm
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to deliver consistent, accurate and timely advice
  • Sound legal skills and experience in corporate and M&A and/or banking legal and regulatory matters
  • Strong communication and drafting skills in English and German (Italian and French would be a plus)
  • Ability to multitask with proven capacity to work well under tight deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual who is able to work independently
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented approach with good organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong team focus
