We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Responsible Person to join our Regional Supply Chain Quality & Compliance team in Lucerne, Switzerland.

The Regional SC Quality & Compliance Team reports to the Regional Supply Chain Management with responsibility for the Quality Management System, Standard Work, Process improvement and Audit across EMEA. The Quality Responsible Person implements and supervises the Quality Systems for all Legal Entities established within the EMEA Supply Chain Hub based in Lucerne. He/she ensures compliance with all pertinent regulations.

In this role the Quality Responsible Person is:

  • The registered Responsible Person (RP, “person responsible for technical matters” according to Swiss regulations “Swissmedic/Therapeutic Products Act”).
  • Act as Responsible Person for the Import, Wholesaling and Export acc. to AMBV Part 2, Articles 9 and 10.
  • Act as Responsible Person for Trading in Foreign Countries acc. to AMBV Part 3, Articles 13 and 14.
  • The QRP has the immediate technical supervision for the business and ensures particularly the appropriate handling of medicines and trading activities
  • The QRP ensures that medicines are supplied and traded according to Good Distribution Practices.
  • Together with the EMEA Supply Chain Quality & Compliance team responsible for implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System in accordance with Swiss pharmaceutical law and MSD policies
  • Monitors developments on GDP, local and global legislation and translating into required actions.
  • Apply and keep current the necessary licenses for the business of the Hub.
  • Supports the organization in fighting counterfeit medicinal products according to guidelines issued by the relevant Swiss and EU authorities and the Mutual Recognition Agreements in place.
  • Support the organization in maintaining a system of quality agreements to ensure that all relevant partners (suppliers, wholesalers, distributors, etc.) have the necessary license for their relative activities in agreement with GxP.
  • Performs together with the auditing team internal audits and ensures CAPAs are completed and effective acc. to given timelines.
  • Support SAP updates from Quality perspective Empowered to make choices and seek alignment with business and quality groups.
  • Coordinates solutions and refers to the appropriate people to get resolution.
  • Interacting with relevant Authorities and production sites as needed.
    Cross functional collaboration with internal and divisional stakeholders as needed
  • Provide training in GxP elements and procedures, create awareness.




Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, (Micro-) Biology, Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 5 year experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with solid quality and compliance experience. Must have expertise and broad experience in Quality Systems and Quality Assurance including solid knowledge of global GMP/GDP and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete fluency in German and English
  • As holder of the responsibility of the Responsible Person (“fachtechnisch verantwortliche Person” according to Swiss regulations “Swissmedic/Heilmittelgesetz”) he/she has to have the necessary professional training and experience to be accepted by the authorities for this function.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to be decisive and influence management with demonstrated leadership skills to drive change in a compliance culture.
  • Quality Risk Management knowledge and expertise.
  • Project management and organizations skills.
  • Strong demonstrated interpersonal, communication (both verbally and in writing), collaborative and leadership skills in dealing with a broad variety of cultures.
  • Experience in Supply Network Planning and Distribution processes is a plus.
  • An understanding of supply chain ERP systems or SAP would be preferred.

  • Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
