For our client, an International Executive Search Company with an Office in Zurich, we are seeking a motivated and well educated Engagement Manager.

  • Ensuring thorough understanding of client’s/position’s requirements at the briefing stage by proactively raising relevant questions and collecting critical information
  • Writing high quality documents that may be sent directly to client with minimal consultant input
  • Presenting research strategy to client with minimum consultant oversight, discussing and refining strategy to obtain buy in
  • Managing research phase completely autonomously by leveraging extensive personal candidate network, mastery of research tools and personal market expertise.
  • Conducting candidate in-person interviews.  Writing high quality appraisals of candidate, providing insightful comments on qualifications and fit
  • Presenting sufficient number of qualified, well-briefed candidates while effectively managing clients and candidates.  Demonstrating effective communication and counseling skills.
  • Executing package negotiations independently, reference checking and counseling of candidates and clients during the closing phase, taking council from consultant when needed
  • Completing all paperwork in a timely manner throughout all phases of the search. 
  • Building proactively a solid network of candidates, sources and “friends of the firm”.
  • Initiating and leading non-search projects/events and supporting the development of junior colleagues through coaching, mentoring and training activities 
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of six years of experience in executive search or relevant search experience.
  • Undergraduate degree required. Relevant graduate degree or MBA preferred
  • Experience identifying market trends and researching information effectively through various channels
  • Highly developed conceptual skills; able to synthesize information quickly; understands various industries and functions; and able to present material in an organized and clear manner
  • The ability/agility to work with a number of constituencies on simultaneous projects
  • Understanding and knowledge of organizational structures
  • Strong desktop research skills and basic business knowledge
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and high level of comfort with utilizing databases and online information resources
  • Demonstrable initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to develop well-planned strategies and achieve goals within tight timelines
  • Executive search experience required
  • Excellent communication skills; speaking, writing, listening

  • Strong organizational, analytical, detailed planning and project management skills; able to effectively prioritize projects and deliverables

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and honesty while building credibility, trust, and respect with internal clients

  • Ability to identify key desires and needs of multiple parties and facilitate effective negotiations

  • Curious by nature

  • Team orientated, contributing to a collegial, collaborative environment

  • Proactive and self-motivated. Action bias with a strong sense of urgency

  • Strong intellectual capacity, a continuous learner, highly analytical, good conceptual thinking skills

  • Detail-oriented while maintaining sight of the big picture
