Role Head of Client Services, Zürich

Company Our client is a distinctive Specialist Bank and Asset Manager. They provide a diverse

range of financial products and services to their niche client base in three principle

markets, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Australia, as well as certain other

geographies .

Key Responsibilities Leadership Responsibilities

• Heading the Client Services department reporting to the bank’s executive

management team, which includes participation at weekly management meetings

• Assistance with client sourcing and relationship building with divisional investment

managers and directors

• Provision of inductions to every new employee across all departments

• Policy and procedure design and maintenance

Daily Responsibilities

• Leading the client take-on process and due diligence of new clients

• Account opening and maintenance

• Client master data ownership in the CRM and core banking system

• Staff account opening and administration

• Managing blocked accounts and the account closure process

• Management and coordination of the implications on clients, documentation and

systems as a result of changes to tax regulations

• Anti-Money Laundering and transaction monitoring, as well as researching clients

using sanction lists and news article software


• Controlling and processing of client payments and physical cash transactions, etc.

• Ownership and handling of the electronic and physical client archive

• Provide high level advice and assistance in respect of account opening to the

bankers and their assistants throughout the group

• Client communications including client letter distribution, general information

provision, cash management, new account confirmations, account closures, etc.

• Extensive and diverse project work, with occasional coordination responsibilities

Desired Profile • Client on-boarding knowledge and due diligence experience, CDB 08

• Microsoft Office, including SharePoint

• Various proprietary systems, such as CRM, client on-boarding, archiving,

compliance and AML/transaction monitoring, banking systems, etc.

• Bloomberg experience

• Anti-Money Laundering related regulations, AML Ordinances, etc.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, min. 3 years’ experience in

similar role

• Commitment to providing guidance and training to others

• Able to make tough, quick decisions

• Highly organized

• Extremely diligent with very thorough attention to detail

• Proactive

• Excellent communication skills

• A keen willingness to learn

• Outstanding team player

• Presentation skills

• Very good flexibility

• Level headed and performs well under pressure

• Foreign language skills are a benefit but not essential
