Job Description

Control & Protection Commissioning Engineer , Switzerland/Global – Contract position


For one of our clients in the industry sector in  Switzerland we are currently looking for a Control & Protection Commissioning Engineer.


Main responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site commissioning activities for Protection and Control
  • Provide standard field service, including replacing failed equipment, uploading settings, validating installations etc.
  • Investigating problems, diagnosing / repairing faults, troubleshooting
  • Provide internal and external timely, accurate and professional technical reports and performing root cause analysis
  • Manage the installed relays / equipment, expedite RMAs and advance replacements
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions for relay functions
  • Provide clear articulation and prioritisation of customer issues and desired solutions with stakeholders
  • EHS leadership, conduct field work in compliance with applicable regulations and ensuring safe working conditions
  • Liaising with project managers / project engineers


Ideal profile:

  • Min. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Min. of 3 years’ experience in the field of control & protection (for transmission) commissioning
  • Fluent command of English, and basic German; any other language will be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel on sites in any country in Africa and Middle-East
  • Software knowledge for reporting
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, customer service and negotiation skills
  • Determination and perseverance as well as the capacity to deal with setbacks in a professional manner
