Scientist Pharmacology & Preclinical Research

Alpinia Laudanum Institute for Phytopharmaceutical Sciences AG was established in 2008 and is pursu-

ing the scientific development of medicines based on plants with high therapeutic potential. It is dedicated

to developing new medicines to address unmet needs in medical therapies.

We are currently offering an opportunity as a:

Scientist Pharmacology & Preclinical Research (100%)

MSc or PhD in Pharmacology, Immunology or a related field is required. At least five years’ experience

and expertise in research relating to autoimmune/inflammatory diseases in a Pharma or Biotech industry

environment is preferred. Industry experience in the application of plant extracts in medicinal research is


Key Responsibilities:

 Innovative development of assays (immunology / inflammation) for evaluating plant extracts and

medicines derived thereof from early research-stage through to preclinical studies

 Generate robust experimental data for the evaluation of new targets, drugs and new treatment


 Implement your in-depth knowledge of current bioassays and perform high quality hands-on la-

boratory work

 Assess appropriate in vivo models for research in cooperation with CROs

 Build an external network of collaborators to drive our discovery projects forward

Your profile:

 MSc or PhD in pharmacology, immunology or related discipline, with a broad practical experience

in immunology / inflammation

 Skilled in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques (qPCR, WB, ELISA, FACS,

cell based assays / whole blood assays)

 Industry experience in the investigation of medicinal plant extracts is an advantage

 Inspired, motivated and target-oriented team player who is able to realize innovative ideas quickly

 Excellent knowledge of pharmacology and preclinical research strategies

 Plan, design and implement in-house (in vitro only) and CRO-supported (in vitro and in vivo) re-

search programs and experimental strategies

 Good analytical and computer skills

 Good communication and organizational skills

 Proficient in English, proficiency in German is an advantage
