Our small dynamic and international team is looking for a highly motivated colleague to join us in our unique work environment where we use Holacracy as a way to govern ourselves.

Ideal profile:

  • Prior experience in social sciences academic writing
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research track record, including statistical tools
  • Subject expertise in the areas of sustainability and responsibility
  • Experience in applied research, incl. case study writing
  • Able to work autonomously in a small team environment
  • Interest to work with stakeholders and in facilitation techniques


Description of Key Activities:

BSL is organized as a self-organizing institution in a distributed power framework. We define the work we do in roles and related accountabilities and here we are looking for an Educational Expert to take on the following two roles:

Role: Supporting Conceptual Design Research (70%)                                                                                          

Purpose: Developing and publishing high impact research quality that matters

-          Independently undertaking data research projects and statistical analysis (example: the Gap Frame)

-          Conducting literature review research and summarizing finding to contribute to research article

-          Supporting and co-writing academic research articles (example: Responsible Leadership)

Role: Supporting Applied Research & Education and Platform Collaboratories (30%)                            

Purpose: Implementing highly relevant collaborative action research & education with stakeholders

-          Supporting training, workshop & platform activities by communicating with participants, preparing materials, reporting on outcomes for publication & sharing, and ideally co-facilitating events

-          Professional writing support in the case study center and other applied research projects

-          Conducting independent research in support of industry or issue-based projects

Background & experience:

  • PhD in business studies or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of the field of business sustainability
  • Track record in working in academic research
  • At least 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (other languages are of advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS-Office Applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience in working in a collaborative working environment
