HSE Coordinator

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AGis a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing and building the TAP natural gas pipeline. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).


The HSE Coordinator function based in Baar Switzerland, has a direct line of reporting to the Senior Corporate HSE Manager. On a day-to-day basis, the HSE Coordinator function shall support, and enforce the implementation of the Company HSE Policy, standards and procedures using an industry leading approach to HSE and at all times ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations and standards. The position holder is responsible for coordinating services and processes that support the core business of the organization, for the assurance of the most suitable working environment for its employees and their activities in Baar.


Main tasks and duties

  • Support update and communication of HSE policies, procedures, regulations and requirements
  • Assist in the delivery and/or deliver appropriate training programmes to ensure that personnel have an adequate understanding of HSE issues and are competent to undertake the duties for which they are employed.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented, keep records & follow up corrective actions arising from such audits, meetings, risk assessments, exercises. ensuring that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
  • Support the preparation of HSE Committees and network meetings and participate in periodical HSE meetings.
  • Carried out internal HSE audits, Preparation of HSE reports.
  • Support the preparation of HSE Communications campaigns.
  • Support the preparation of HSE Plans and programs, assist in preparing HSE strategies and developing internal policy.
  • Coordination of Duty Managers and internal emergency exercises
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the company.
  • Assist in the identification of HSE legal requirements in countries.
  • To carry out risk assessments of activities and areas as identified through the Risk Assessment Programme, interpret legislative compliance and suggest methods of improvement.
  • Support and advice on driving a culture of HSE and behavioural change through people engagement.
  • Support sites to ensure risks are identified and robust management controls implemented in line with company policy, standards and procedures.
  • Assist in managing and organising the safe disposal of waste material
  • Contractor’s control in Headquarters.
  • Ensure that site documentation is maintained, controlled and records maintained to ensure ongoing compliance with the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001. Ensure all statutory and internal health and safety reports are completed and submitted on time.
  • Promote the implementation of TAP Golden Rules


Main requirements

  • University degree in a technical area or equivalent
  • NEBOSH or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of HSE experience, preferred in large Oil & Gas companies
  • Good knowledge of and experience in working with the European HSE Standards and Country National Policies and Regulations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasion skills, ideally previous experience in working with and advising Senior Management
  • Strong focus on delivery and excellence with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders, employees and contractors’ workforce
  • Disciplined, high level of organisation and integrity
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to swiftly adapt to and deal with fast shifting priorities, to multitask and prioritize between competing issues
  • Multi-cultural work experience required
  • Fluency in English is a must, knowledge of Italian highly desirable, any  German  or Albanian is helpful
