Risk and Assurance Specialist

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AGis a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing and building the TAP natural gas pipeline. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).


For TAP’s head office in Baar, Switzerland, we are looking to engage a Risk and Assurance Specialist, reporting to the Risk and Assurance Manager. The successful candidate is Responsible for driving and coordinating integrative and comprehensive risk management processes and tools within TAP, across all functions, departments and countries. In doing so, the Risk and Assurance Specialist will be responsible for coordinating all risk management activities for the sole purpose of a tangible increase in TAPs risk culture.


Main tasks and duties

  • Coordinate and lead activities to ensure all Functions, Departments and Countries have up to date risk registers as per established methodologies through various means such as undertaking risk workshops, regular risk reviews for example
  • Support the Risk and Assurance Manager in delivering the yearly Internal Audit Plan in areas such as audit planning and set up, documentation review and contractor management
  • Provide sufficient and effective system and process training to all staff to ensure all employees understand and can apply TAPs risk management process
  • Undertake analyse and interrogate risk information, such as monitoring if; the correct risks are being identified, risks are rated accurately, risks are being regularly reviewed, controls are in place, treatment/action plans are being executed, new/emerging risks are being identified and trends are being monitored (for example), to drive a visible increase in TAPs risk maturity. Report on this
  • Prepare and present documentation/deliverables at relevant forums/times such as Monthly Reporting Leadership Team meetings, Extended Leadership Team, Finance Risk and Audit, TAP Board or other, if and when required
  • Maintain and update TAPs Risk Management Policy, Enterprise Risk Management Framework, other functionally specific documentation and coordinate to ensure all other documentation relating to risk management activities is in line with these fundamental documents
  • As functional business owner of the PIMS Risk Management Module, excel in its use, management and maintenance. Identify and implement any improvement initiatives over time
  • Ensure RM activities are in compliance with internal TAP and external legal requirements.


Main requirements

  • Bachelor degree at a minimum (Business Administration, Economics, Law or other)
  • Several years’ experience of Risk Management (preferably in projects, joint ventures and Corporate environments)
  • Thorough understanding and application of ISO31000
  • Auditing background and risk management experience
  • Strong communication abilities (internal and external) and ability to cooperate across disciplines and across companies in a multi-cultural environment, capacity to build bridges internally and externally.
  • Big 4 experience favourable
  • High focus on HSE, ethics and TAP values
  • PIMS, Windows, SharePoint fluent
  • Excellent grasp of the English language – verbal and written. Italian, Greek or Albanian an advantage
