Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Morges, Switzerland
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the corporate financial accounting, compliance and governance activities of the EMEA region financial accounting group. The Analyst provides financial expertise on compliance, US GAAP accounting, statutory accounting and audit matters. The Analyst also supports training programs for region-wide processes and assists in setting, operating and streamlining financial controls and the compliance framework for Group activities in the region, through a comprehensive set of financial and risk management tools.
The position interacts closely with various EMEA Corporate Departments including Tax, Treasury and Legal. The position also works closely with Operating divisions and controllers as well as Global Financial Accounting, International Shared Service Centers and Excellence Centers.
The position is to work within the Finance Team (3 people) and reports to the Finance Manager.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Oversees the monthly US GAAP closing activities for a number of corporate ledgers
Prepares US GAAP accounting memos documenting complex transactions
Operates and monitors the EMEA statutory impairment test process for investments, goodwill and intangible assets
Supports financial and compliance processes such as accounts analysis, SOX coordination, balance sheet reviews and internal training
Performs compliance monitoring and operates various tools with continuous focus on process efficiency
Assists with advice and interpretation of US GAAP, local GAAP, corporate policies, internal controls and audit, tax and treasury requirements
Participates in the deployment of EMEA Compliance Framework and other financial accounting initiatives in dedicated countries
Provides expertise for ad hoc projects
Minimum: Professional qualification/degree in accounting required. CPA/equivalent strongly preferred.
Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience.
Fluent English and German, working knowledge of French a benefit.
Significant experience in finance/accounting/auditing within a multinational company.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP, IFRS, Swiss CO), financial reporting, consolidation and analysis.
Strong presentation and communication skills, ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external executives.
Requires disciplined individual able to organize, operate and deliver independently on multiple projects without day to day supervision
