In the continuous effort to discover value and prove relevance in Big Data and Data Management solutions, the Solutions Business Developer / Enterprise Architect as part of the COO organization supports the SAP sales organization. Based on deep solution understanding of today`s Data Management concepts and the emerging Big Data Technology Market, she/he will drive the business development process to create awareness, raise demand and to support deals. The Solutions Business Developer / Enterprise Architect role is an active role that is customer focused and presents challenges. The position requires a combination of strategic and practical experience. The Business Developer / Enterprise Architect is responsible to generate, identify and qualify leads/opportunities, drive strategy and build pipeline for the SAP Platform Solutions Portfolio. She/he works together with customers, partners and prospects in areas of Big Data and Data Management Architectures, e.g. the Internet of Things. She/he delivers concepts and plans for all relevant SAP Platform Solutions. She/he works with the Account Team to educate targeted accounts on the solution-portfolio and supports account planning for strategic deals.

    • Ability to operate across organizational boundaries, to influence staff and to have an impact on the internal and external technology community
    • Develop a GtM strategy in close alignment with the SAP solutions portfolio, Market Trends and overall SAP Strategy
  • Influence and Research local market characteristics
    • Work with local organizations and communities that impact the Platform Technology market
    • Discover trends that impact the customer installed base
    • Become active member of social and other communities in the local Platform Technology market
  • Manage Demand Generation Activities
    • Understanding of business models and being able to derive requirements and translate them to sales potentials
    • Plan, define and manage demand generation actions (ideal marketing mix)
  • Sales & Deal Support
    • Ability to design and operationalize Sales Plays
    • Partner with sales organization to create revenue growth opportunities and improve the win rate versus competitors
    • Responsible for value discovery which includes the development of value propositions / business cases with qualitative and quantified benefits
    • Leverage Worldwide References and replicate and adopt on local market
    • Create value-based strategies or roadmaps to support software purchasing decisions
    • Align with customer contacts on executive and operational level to manage scope and expectations
    • Deliver high-quality presentations to customer executives
    • Orchestrate and moderate internal and external workshops



  • Expertise in concepts of Big Data (on Hadoop), Data Warehousing, Database Management System and Enterprise Information Management
  • Build and sell abilities:
    • Data Management architecture (architecture patterns, data flows, data storage and data ownership)
    • Information architecture, from raw data to smart data (Enterprise Information Management, Master Data Management, Data cleansing, etc.)
    • Process architecture (end to end innovations, new digital processes, lot-size one,  Iot, etc.)
  • Significant experience in a variety of disciplines and a strong record of achievement in strategy development, marketing or business development
  • Deep understanding of market and economic figures, company KPIs including the ability to deal with such financial figures to drive revenue
  • Capable of leading and influencing in the technology software community, at the customer senior/executive level and working well with customer or partner executives globally.  
  • Understanding how businesses work; knowledgeable about current and possible future practices, trends and information affecting the SAP business (knows the competition, aware of how strategic and tactics work in the marketplace or communities)
  • Deep understanding of cloud, hosted services, and SaaS/ PaaS models, cloud-based B2B/ business networks *
  • Good knowledge of related SAP offerings (software solutions, services and support) *
  • Executive communication skills (German and English must, favorable also French)



  • Experience in Data Management concepts and architecture
  • Background in demand generation, consultative selling and convincing customers
  • Senior level experience driving complex and leveraging revenue topics
  • Able to deliver clear, convincing and well-organized presentations. Credibility even in highly visible and/or adversarial situations
  • Leadership role experience: Able to plan, organize and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific goals and objectives
  • Knowledgeable about how organizations and communities work; knows how to get things done through formal and informal channels; understands the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices and procedures; understands cultures of organizations and communities. Marshal resources effectively and efficiently (people, funding, materials, support)
