Ricardo.ch AG is seeking a Category Manager to shape the future of our “CEPC, Audio & Video” business. This role will offer a unique opportunity to build, scale, and optimize the development of this specific product world. Category Manager Marketplaces / Consumer Electronics, PC, Audio & Video

We are looking to add an experienced, result-driven leader. The Category Manager will have several key responsibilities within the third-party Marketplace, including:
  • Category analytics and strategy: you will work closely with the ricardo leadership on designing a business strategy (understanding the drivers of supply and demand, pricing, competitive landscape), construct best-in-class customer experience and maximize GMV and revenue growth through suitable measures
  • Seller management: With the support of a sales team, you will identify and pragmatically lead new seller acquisition (including onboarding), manage large sellers on a daily basis and enhance overall customer experience
  • Project management: you will automate and scale the category growth via new inventory and the monitoring of product listing quality
  • Business Development: You will drive category traffic through the design and implementation of promotion measures in cooperation with our marketing and data intelligence departments

The successful Category Manager must be able to:
  • Act as a business owner for his or her category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business (this entails forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on the category)
  • Have a complete understanding of customer needs, both existing and potential
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with sellers effectively
  • Create business plans for new opportunities and execute project plans for the launch of new features
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet GMV and transaction revenue targets

Basic qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Business, Economics, Marketing (or related field) / MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience that demonstrates strong analytics, strategy development and project leadership skills
  • Experience in eCommerce or product management with high interest for the digital industry
  • Fluent German / Excellent knowledge of English, French advantageous
  • Proven analytical skills and highly numerate
  • Experience with Excel and Access, or similar database

Preferred qualifications:
  • Proven track record of bias for action, ownership and driving results
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with high level of attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in Consumer-facing sectors such as Retail, FMCG is preferred
