Job summary

Red Hat's ISV team is seeking a Business Development Manager to join us in Zurich, Switzerland. The ISV team is a Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) sales group within the company that makes a significant financial contribution to Red Hat and increases our overall customer retention. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering new partner agreements, working on new architectural designs based on Red Hat technology, revenue quotas in a specific assigned region by developing new business, and maintaining relationships with current customers and partners. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with our corporate sales team to ensure alignment and collaboration within region.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Engage with existing partners to develop the ISV business across Switzerland
  • Work with account managers and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities
  • Develop long term solutions with clients that require the embedding of Red Hat technology
  • Collaborate with the internal sales staff to profile current and prospective ISV partners
  • Provide followup activities to support Red Hat marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate internally across the ISV team to foster a team culture and share best practice
  • Meet assigned sales quotas, grow and renew existing customer relationships, and acquire new business
  • Collaborate on a global basis as the European lead on global ISV accounts to ensure company goals are meet
  • Manage forecasts, close deals, record sales activity, and track customer data using company standard CRM tools
  • Send proposals and quotes of specific solutions to gain new customers and upgrade existing accounts
  • Answer sales queries through phone and email

Required skills

  • 10+ years of sales experience in the IT industry; track record of overachievement
  • Solid industry knowledge within the financial vertical
  • Fluent in both English and German; additional language skills in French and Italian are advantages
  • Proven knowledge of managing and selling commercial embedding contracts 
  • Understanding of solution selling methodologies
  • MBA or related degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in selling with and to partners
  • Ability to engage management decision-makers at senior levels
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with multiple sales channels and routes to market
