Business size up to USD1.7Bns. Substantiating recommendations allowing the Company to appreciate its contractual and statutory obligations, independently managing disputes and litigation, and assisting in management decision processes with robust risk assessments. Drive compliance awareness and effectiveness, especially on new strategic business models for the franchises, with a particular focus on anti-trust and anti-bribery
Acts as Regional Lead Lawyer and Business Partner to Surgical and Vision Care Franchises, including but not limited to:
•Provides substantive and strategic legal support to Surgical and Vision Care leaders and their respective teams, and more specifically advises on strategic franchise projects (launch of key products, InContact project for Vision Care, Surgical Transformation Project, implementation of EFAs – Equipment Financing Agreements; pricing policy etc.…);
•Active core member of the Regional Franchise teams as well as the EMEA Legal and Compliance team;
•Be an acknowledged expert and resource for the entire legal function and for the business organization overall on Surgical and Vision Care legal and compliance matters/issues;
•Drafts complex transactions and contracts independently;
•Gives complex strategic and contextual legal advice and guidance (incl. training of key customers in specified legal areas) with strong operational and business acumen by setting legal necessities in context with competing operational needs; •Identifies risks and proposes solutions relating to business; raises business’ awareness of legal issues and ensures early legal involvement;
•Conducts robust risk assessments that substantiate recommendations, and advises on and determines appropriate actions to support the management decision processes;
•Is able to make decisions independently within a broad framework;
•Provides guidance to support the reduction of risks and avoidance of unanticipated disruptions to the business, and manages significant disputes, dispute resolutions and litigations and/or investigations;
•Leads projects within Legal, and provides legal support for commercial initiatives and activities;
•Manages relationships and monitors the work of outside counsel and legal experts. Integrity and Compliance

Fluency in English essential; knowledge of at least one other European language preferred
•7 to 10 years post Bar experience, ideally gained within healthcare / medical device industry, or alternatively with a top-tier law firm representing healthcare clients.
•Ability to analyze complex legal issues.
•Strong verbal & written communication skills, together with a high ability to influence and negotiate.
•Proven ability to deal positively when working within tight time pressures & demanding clients.
•Strong experience in handling a high volume of activity involving multiple, often complex projects simultaneously.
•Demonstrate professional & culturally sensitive work ethic.
