Bioanalytical Technician/Assistant

(6 months temporary contract)

Novimmmune SA is a Swiss drug discovery and development company located in Geneva and focused on the creation of antibody-based drugs for the targeted treatment of inflammatory diseases, immune-related disorders, and cancer.

Novimmune is currently seeking a temporary Bioanalytical Technician/Assistant in the Bioanalytics unit within the Bioprocess R&D Department. The successful applicant will work in a lab with a team of experienced technicians and assistants to support bioanalytical testing for various activities such as manufacturing process development, drug substance/drug product characterization and stability studies.

Description of main activities:In accordance to internal QA documents:
  • Receive, check and store samples
  • Execute routine bioanalytical testing according to the testing schedule
  • Analyze and interpret the data
  • Communicate testing results while respecting timelines
  • Participate to lab maintenance activities:
    • manage lab stock (ordering, reception, aliquoting, storage in appropriate conditions)
    • prepare common buffers/solutions
    • periodically maintain/calibrate equipment according to the maintenance schedule
    • monitor the temperature/CO2 of refrigerators and incubators
  • QC-check various rawdata and results
  • Complete all relevant QA documents for each task
Other activities:
  • Draft and/or review QA documentation (SOP, batch records, observation etc.)
  • Support bioanalytical method development and/or qualification
  • Contribute to improvements for the lab organization/activities
  • Prepare power point slides and give presentations in English
Laboratory techniques required:
  • Experience of biochemical and cell based activity assay development and analysis
  • Hands on experience with ELISA and FACS
  • Experience of cell culture laboratory work: aseptic and sterile techniques
  • Good pipetting techniques (accurate and precise)
Skills and competencies:
  • BSc or MSc in Biotechnology, or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a quality control laboratory in a pharmaceutical/biotech company
  • General knowledge of the production, purification and characterization of mAbs
  • Knowledge of good documentation practice
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast moving environment
  • Problem solving and flexible with regards to evolving priorities
  • Good organization, rigor, attention to details and communication
  • Computer literate, knowledge of Graphpad, Gen5 and Oceasoft software an advantage
  • Fluent in French and good level in English (oral and writing)
  • Swiss resident or EU national
