The IT’IS Foundation is an independent, non-profit research institute pursuing advanced research in simulation methodologies and applications of physical, physiological, and biological processes to bridge the gap between bench and bedside in the emerging field of personalized medicine.
One of the Foundation’s growing fields of expertise is focused ultrasound (FUS) and the modeling of complex FUS-based treatment scenarios. FUS is a promising non-invasive alternative to interventional therapies. In that context, the IT’IS Foundation has developed a framework for numerical multi-physics modeling of FUS treatments in computational anatomical human models generated from medical image data.
To keep building our expertise and consolidate our framework, we are seeking a PhD candidate to use the existing simulation platform and perform numerical modeling and experimental validation of clinically relevant FUS applications in collaboration with clinical researchers (e.g., transcranial FUS applied to functional neurosurgery and cerebral oncology, thermal oncology treatments).Education / Profile:• MSc or equivalent degree in physics, medical physics, mathematics, computer science, electrical or communications engineering, or similar field. Knowledge of biology or a biomedical engineering background highly regarded
