User recommendation system for BLINQ
The goal of this thesis is to improve the experience of BLINQ users by making relevant
recommendations with a high match probability. The steps include building models for user
recommendations in a reciprocal and bipartite social network, testing algorithms on our live
dataset with more than 30 million ratings and implementing server processing using big data
solutions (Apache Hadoop).
Pattern recognition for peer-to-peer mobile device discovery system
For a new project with the goal to build an advanced recommendation system for bars and
clubs, we implemented a p2p discovery function to passively connect smartphones without
internet connection. Your task is to analyze and learn from the collected data and implement a
pattern recognition system to improve the overall recommendation results.
Intelligent beacon detection system
Both the BLINQ app and new app make use of our large beacon distribution in Zürich.
Accurate beacon recognition is important to get usable results. Your task is to improve the
beacon detection on iOS and Android and build a reliable distance measurement algorithm to
recognize beacons in the immediate vicinity.
