On behalf of our client, an international chemical group, we are looking for a dynamic and
Lead Contract Manager - New Industrial Plant
The Lead Contract Manager will have responsibility in establishing and managing the required
contracts related to the new industrial plant project. He/she will closely work with project
stakeholders to achieve the outcomes that effectively meet projects objectives and business
requirements. The position will be based in the Eastern part of Canada.
Elaborate and manage across stakeholders (engineering company, authorities, power
suppliers,…) contracts for goods and services to ensure the delivery of outcomes in line
with projects objectives.
Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance with the contract, contract
management plan, risk management plan and organisational policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
including effectively managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, risks and
undertaking negotiations with suppliers as required according to the project
Ensure communication between stakeholders.
Research and analyse contract related information including supplier contract reporting,
and provide reports regarding contract activity and performance
Manage allocated contract implementation and transition, including management of
supplier and Agency activities.
Provide advice and support to the project manager and contract establishment process
including identifying opportunities to improve procurement outcomes, efficiency and
value for money.
Provide leadership, advice and support to staff within the team.
10+ years experience in a contract management (or equivalent) role in a procurement
environment in Canada; solid working knowledge of contract management processes
Demonstrated experience in a contract management capacity for an engineering
company (EPCM or equivalent)
Large/complex project experience a must; new plant project experience highly desirable
High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a range of
stakeholders in providing expert contract management advice to enable achievement of
High level communication skills at all levels (written and verbal) and the ability to
undertake negotiations with suppliers in the resolution of disputes.
Demonstrated investigative and analytical skills including the ability to use MS Excel,
Database and Reporting systems.
Ability to review, develop and implement guidelines and operating processes.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to deliver project outcomes within
specified parameters including timeframes and objectives.
Ability to identify continuous improvement and innovation opportunities in processes to
improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Ability to work under limited direction, including experience in planning, prioritising and
organising work for self and others to achieve goals and deadlines.
Demonstrated knowledge of government legislation, audit regulations, legal obligations
An understanding of and ability to work to the spirit and principles of the Premier’s Safety
Commitment and the legislative requirements of the Occupational Health Safety
The candidate must be Canadian or have a valid Canadian work permit
University degree in a relevant field
