In order to implement a clear growth strategy for CARMA, one of three worldwide Gourmet / Food-service brands we are looking for a highly motivated professional at the Headquarters based in Zürich, working as:

Global Brand Manager Carma


Reporting to the Sales Director Gourmet in Barry Callebaut Switzerland, you will be responsible for the Brand CARMA and the execution of the Product Management internationally. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small team and be involved in the strategic planning of the brand right through to the hands on execution. You will be responsible for leading one team member and providing leadership to the wider Brand team.


  • Some of the work has already begun but you enter at a vital stage of the Brands journey and therefore your role’s responsibilities will be to: Implement and further detail the existing brand strategy: roll-out of recently defined brand promise; further sharpening the brand positioning; leading packaging improvement projects; implementing segment focus with specific value propositions; validate internally and with customers; develop an action plan and roadmap per country.
  • Own and manage the product range: address product gaps; strategic pricing; SKU rationalization; definition of core SKUs; focus SKUs for the future.
  • Develop advertising and communication strategy and implement 
  • Initiate and manage product development projects
  • Take overall responsibility for the Ambassadors’ Club of Carma
  • Develop a mid-term plan and yearly budget for the brand
  • Drive business inside the regions;  provide leadership and inspiration to the regional marketing managers, trade marketers and /or sales managers
  • Represent the brand to the outside world (e.g. in trade shows)


For this interesting and challenging position, the following background and skills are required:

  • University master degree or equivalent (Eidg. dipl. Marketingleiter)
  • Marketing professional with a passion for brands
  • Application experience in marketing and strategy development, preferably acquired in a similar B2B foodservice environment
  • Financial, analytical and conceptual skills 
  • Product and project management experience
  • Experience in using tools such as Excel, SAP, BIW or similar
  • Solid PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Excellent German and English language skills (written and spoken), other languages would be an advantage
