Nanolive is an EPFL startup that has created a revolutionary microscope capable of visualizing live cells in 3D, in real-time, and without harming them, using the refractive index. Furthermore, the technology is quantitative, which allows the analysis to be more accurate than ever before: Nanolive is the first company worldwide to be able to do research based on this sort of data.
Nanolive is looking for a motivated and outstanding Intern or Master’s Project student to help build and integrate machine learning tools, that will be used both internally and by our clients. The created software needs to be capable of running on large clusters, and with data totaling many TB (each microscope is capable of generating 100GB per hour).
The project should start in February 2017 and last for 4-6 months.

You will be working with cutting edge technologies and face advanced technical challenges for which you will have to come up with creative solutions.
An excellent understanding of Machine Learning concepts and tools is an absolute prerequisite.
