About the role

The main tasks for this role will be to execute Swiss Re's global Casualty Reinsurance strategy with regards to cyber and technology and to support the generation of profitable business opportunities within the context of the overall company direction and strategy as well as steer and manage the portfolio accordingly.
The role of the Senior Cyber and Technology Product Manager is to steer the cyber and technology portfolio and to support the overall Reinsurance cyber strategy implementation.

Main tasks include:
•Manage both treaty and facultative reinsurance cyber and technology portfolios and provide transparency and reporting
•Ownership of underwriting referrals across all markets globally. Analyze and assess the technical insurability in respect of exposures and coverage, review reinsurance structures, wordings and proposals and prepare quotations in close cooperation with the underwriters, actuaries and client executives.
•Uphold and improve underwriting quality, determine and approve underwriting authority grants.
•Set and communicate risk appetite and underwriting standards for cyber that support Swiss Re's strategy and reflect the appropriate level of guidance and controllership. This is to be done in collaboration with various internal stakeholders.
•Support cyber strategy development projects and contribute significantly to the implementation of the strategy
•Contribute to developing Cyber and Technology products for Swiss Re across client segments, from individually tailored solutions for clients to standardized turnkey solutions, which attract new opportunities and select the risks carefully and efficiently.
•Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders externally and internally (clients, brokers, industry decision makers /influencers and colleagues in various business units).
•Keep abreast of market environment, legal and regulatory trends with respect to cyber risk and share that knowledge. Contribute to training and knowledge exchange on cyber and technology. Train less experienced cyber underwriters.
•Cooperate with different units within Swiss Re to increase understanding and management of cyber risk accumulation and the impact on business portfolios.
•Contribute to positioning Swiss Re by participating in industry conferences and events.
•Contribute to the further development of cyber costing tools in collaboration with actuaries, modelers, underwriters, claims and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate does not have employees reporting to him/ her but will lead a virtual team of less experienced designated cyber underwriters in different geographic markets.


About the team

The Senior Cyber and Technology Product Manager reports to the Head Financial Lines within the Casualty Center and has a secondary line to the Head of Cyber and Digital Strategy. The product manager will form part of the cyber cross-functional team within the Reinsurance Business Unit. He/she will work in close collaboration with other units in Casualty Center, Reinsurance, and on Swiss Re Group level, but also with external parties.


About You

•College/university degree in finance or economics or a technical discipline
•Minimum 5-7 years of cyber and technology underwriting experience
•Primary insurance underwriting and product development experience
•Professional experience in international business environment
•Proven track record in project management
•Business fluency in English, German and French
•Collaborative working style, working well with virtual teams across all hierarchical levels of the organization
•Demonstrated ability to move tasks and initiatives forward
•Highly self-motivated and results-oriented
