About the role

We are looking for a motivated Intern in our Energy Casualty Underwriting team. You will work hands-on on the development and structuring of a costing tool, specific to the oil and gas industry on a global scale. In close collaboration with Underwriting, Risk Engineering and Actuarial, your role involves the analysis of industry data which provides the basis for future underwriting costing models. By supporting these efforts, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the oil and gas industry, international project management experience and insight into the casualty insurance solution of the respective clients. This position requires both analytical, project management and communication skills, and provides an excellent start for a career in the financial sector.


About the team

Energy Casualty Underwriting provides casualty insurance solutions to clients in the oil and gas, mining and utility industries. This involves negotiation and marketing of specific insurance solutions including portfolio management on a broader scale. It is a team of diverse colleagues spread across the world.


About You

• Bachelor or Master in natural science, mathematics, economics or similar
• Accurate, flexible and have a feel for quantitative analysis and working with data
• Experience in Internet research
• Team player, curious and flexible personality
• Ability to work independently
• Proficiency in English and German; other languages are an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), further technical skills are an advantage
• Motivated to work in a multi-disciplinary, international team and you are not afraid of going the extra mile

Duration of internship: 4-6 months, starting February/March 2017
