About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel, Swiss Re Life Capital Reinsurance Ltd (SRLC Re), Zurich is responsible for providing corporate legal support, company secretarial and corporate governance services as well as compliance and regulatory advice to SRLC Re.

In particular, the Senior Legal Counsel, SRLC Re:

• Provides legal and regulatory advice to SRLC Re in respect of existing as well as new laws and regulations issued by the Swiss legislator and FINMA (as regulator) relevant to the entity, intragroup arrangements, business agreements, reinsurance contracts, outsourcing etc.
• Responds to legal inquiries and provides legal analysis on existing and proposed laws and regulations relevant to SRLC Re.
• Acts as company secretary to the FINMA regulated SRLC Re entity board as well as any board and management committees.
• Provides corporate governance advice, arranges and attends Board meetings and prepares agendas and minutes.
• Manages and attends to regulatory and corporate filings.
• Performs regulatory monitoring to enable advice, develop guidelines and provide training.


About the team

The Senior Legal Counsel, SRLC Re reports to the General Counsel of Swiss Re Life Capital and will be a member of the Life Capital Legal Team.


About You

• You will be a Swiss Qualified Lawyer, minimum 4 years PQE
• Candidates should bring with them experience of Swiss corporate law and governance, with a strong regulatory and compliance background preferred and a good knowledge of (re)insurance and related legal and compliance issues an advantage.
