External Posting TitleDirector, LearningJob DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced and collaborative Director, Learning for a newly established role in Biogen’s Pharmaceutical, Operations and Technology (PO&T) division. The Director will be responsible for leading Learning for the entire PO&T organization globally.
The Director, PO&T Learning advances Biogen’s corporate strategy and drives business results by proactively aligning learning and development with the highest priority needs of the PO&T organization. The Director leads a team of geographically dispersed learning partners and technical trainers and works with key stakeholders in the business to drive consistent global execution of PO&T learning initiatives for measurable impact and build a culture of learning. The Director is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance of all GXP training programs subject to inspection by FDA, EMA, and other global regulatory agencies.
The key responsibilities will include:
• Establish PO&T learning strategy and ensure tight alignment between strategies, execution, spend, and results.
• Ensure all GXP and compliance training meets regulatory standards for all countries in which we operate
• Ensure support for all inspections and audits, globally
• Build and sustain relationships at EVP/SVP level to understand business needs and to create learning strategy and prioritize initiatives
• Apply learning expertise to determine when and where learning can be a lever to drive performance
• Lead PO&T learning team to drive execution of learning strategy and associated business outcomes
• Provide administrative oversight, manage budgets and timelines and ensure adherence to all relevant policies and SOPs
• Ensure learning plans are proactive, scalable, global, and adaptive
The Director, PO&T Learning will be joining Biogen at an exciting time as we build our new state of art biologics manufacturing facility in Solothurn, Switzerland. The new facility will employ up to 400 employees and be fully operational by 2019. Our new facility will revolutionize the biotech manufacturing industry by becoming the “next generation manufacturing facility” and set new standards for the industry.

Manufacturing/Biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
Qualified candidates will be high performing individuals with business acumen, strong consultative skills, learning expertise, and a demonstrated ability to drive organizational change. Candidates must possess a collaborative style and be able to quickly gain trust and respect of peers and senior leadership, a track record of successfully driving results through strong partnerships, and the ability to lead and execute globally. Practical knowledge of GxP practices and experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
